Overview
Authentication establishes the caller identity; authorization determines what that caller may do. A future Remizen design would need both before exposing organizational or financial resources.
Key concepts
Bind a principal to an organization and a defined permission set. User sessions and machine credentials have different lifecycle and revocation requirements.
Implementation considerations
This page does not configure an identity provider or assert that a public API authentication system exists. Determine the trust boundary before choosing credential formats.
Illustrative data model
This local fixture shows a possible representation for the concepts above. It is not an endpoint response, production configuration or a claim that the described capability is implemented.

}Design review checklist
- Document which organization owns the authentication overview representation and which actor may view or change it.
- Test the boundaries of principal id, organization id, scope using synthetic values, including missing or inconsistent references.
- Before future implementation, obtain an approved contract and review failure behavior. This documentation does not authorize production activation.
Proposed data types

| organization_id | string | Stable fictional organization reference; not a secret and not evidence that a resource exists. |
| scope | array<string> | Illustrative minimum-access grant names, not issued or finalized production scopes. |
