Overview
SAML federation exchanges signed assertions between an identity provider and a service provider. A future evaluation should consider assertion audience, recipient and replay prevention.
Key concepts
Validate trusted signatures, assertion validity windows and the intended destination. Attribute mapping must distinguish an immutable identity from a mutable email address.
Implementation considerations
The example is metadata for discussion, not a working SAML endpoint. Certificates and customer federation details must never be pasted into this documentation.
Illustrative data model
This local fixture shows a possible representation for the concepts above. It is not an endpoint response, production configuration or a claim that the described capability is implemented.

}Design review checklist
- Document which organization owns the saml authentication representation and which actor may view or change it.
- Test the boundaries of issuer, audience, subject, expires at using synthetic values, including missing or inconsistent references.
- Before future implementation, obtain an approved contract and review failure behavior. This documentation does not authorize production activation.
Proposed data types
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| issuer | string | Reserved identity-provider illustration, not a configured Remizen provider. |
| audience | string | Proposed intended recipient identifier to validate independently of token decoding. |
| subject | string | Illustrative subject value; interpret it only within the proposed topic-specific model described above. |
| expires_at | string (date-time) | Synthetic UTC timestamp. Business occurrence time may differ from delivery or processing time. |
