Authentication
Planned API — Reference OnlyReference documentation for proposed authentication. Nothing on this page issues, validates or exchanges credentials.
API Key Authentication
The proposed design could use an Authorization bearer header. YOUR_API_KEY is a placeholder, not a valid credential. Key provisioning, restrictions and revocation are not implemented.
OAuth 2.0
A possible future delegated-authorization design may use authorization code flow with PKCE. This describes a concept only: no authorization server, consent page, callback, client registration or token endpoint is available.
Access Tokens
A future access token could carry a limited authorization context. YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN is illustrative. Token format and validation rules are not established.
Refresh Tokens
Refresh tokens could renew access after authorization in a future implementation. No refresh token is issued here; rotation and renewal policies remain undecided.
Permissions
Illustrative scopes include expenses:read and expenses:write. These names do not establish permissions or grant access. Organization isolation and scope enforcement must be implemented separately.
Token Expiration
Expiration durations, refresh lifetimes, revocation behavior and session policies are not finalized. No expiration guarantee is implied.
Security Best Practices
- Future implementations should avoid exposing secrets in browser code.
- Use least privilege and approved organization access.
- Protect, rotate and revoke credentials according to the eventual contract.
- Never paste a real credential into this documentation site.
