Overview

Single sign-on concerns interactive user identity federation. It should not be treated as a substitute for API authorization or machine-principal lifecycle management.

Key concepts

Map an external identity to an internal user using a verified issuer and stable subject identifier. Domain membership alone is not a sufficient organization assignment.

Implementation considerations

No SSO setup is available here, and this documentation does not claim deployment of an enterprise identity provider.

Illustrative data model

This local fixture shows a possible representation for the concepts above. It is not an endpoint response, production configuration or a claim that the described capability is implemented.

Design review checklist

  • Document which organization owns the single sign-on representation and which actor may view or change it.
  • Test the boundaries of issuer, subject, user id, organization id using synthetic values, including missing or inconsistent references.
  • Before future implementation, obtain an approved contract and review failure behavior. This documentation does not authorize production activation.
