Overview
Retrieving one user would return an authorized profile representation, not their credentials or sensitive employment documents. The caller must have access to the user organization.
Key concepts
Separate profile attributes from role assignments and manager relationships. References may require their own authorized lookup.
Implementation considerations
A missing or inaccessible manager should not cause the client to guess a different approval owner. Preserve unknown relationships for review.
Proposed API behavior
GET /v1/users/{user_id} is an illustrative design for this topic. Path and field names may change before implementation. Access would require an authorized organization context and operation-specific permission; no public API or authorization grant is available here.

No additional request fields are illustrated; this is not a finalized contract.

-H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY'Fictional response example
Fictional documentation data only. No request was sent, record created, review performed, payment initiated or provider connection activated.

Review this failure case in context: A missing or inaccessible manager should not cause the client to guess a different approval owner. Preserve unknown relationships for review.
Synthetic diagnostic example. Human-readable messages must not be used as stable programmatic contracts.
